Urban Ecology can be defined as a study of the complex relation between living, non living and all the phenomenon that makes up an urban area. Every process in the environment is related and nothing can exist without the other. The relations are symbiotic in nature. Jobs, leisure activities, community activities like gatherings all form a part of urban ecology. An ecology governs every built and un-built space and identifying these ecological process are the skill and responsibility of an urban designer. The study of Urban Ecology helps increase the quality of living by making it more interesting, increasing diversity, connectedness, equity, sustainability and henceforth increasing the quality of life.
